It so wonderful to have a forum like this to share vital information on migration to canada.

I am in the process of applying for migration under simplified process and I am doing it individually without hiring any firms. I will be very appreciative if you could throw some light on certain aspect that I am a little confused with.

I am just aligning my queries according to the question numbers in the application.

Question No 17. Your identity card number.
Please advice me of what should I write here. Can I just write any identity card reference number issued by the government agency.

Question No 23. Which is your second official Language.
Since my first language is English and there are no None boxes available please advice me is it ok if I dont tick any of the boxes.

Question No 25.Amount of unencumbered transferable funds.
Please advice me if I need to have the amount in the bank as of the date of submission of the application or is it ok if I produce the necessary documents to prove that I have the amount at a later stage.

Question No 26. Work Experience.

I am working as a Business Development Manager for the past one year with a pvt firm but I started my career as a Junior Development Executive. All the three years of work has been in the same company except for the fact my designation have been on the rise. So do I have to fill three different times indicating the position that i held and the period during which I held it.

Also Since working as a Business Development manager can the following code can be applied as I dont find a rightful choise to match the same name.

0611 Sales, Marketing and Advertising Managers (market development manager)

As I have read in the forum and also from the CIC website that there is no different between submitting the forms individually or through a hired representative I am planning to do it on my own.

About the IELTS will I have sufficient time to sit for the exams after getting the approval from the CIC for updating the forms.

Indicate the page where I can find the details on highly required skills that is getting a better advantage than the normal applications.

25. funds, since you don't send documentation of funds with your application, it's enough that you can prove your funds when they ask for the documents at a later date

26. work experience, break down your time according to NOC codes. to apply as a skilled worker, you need to have at least one year in a skilled profession. 0611 will not do it because the 2nd digit being 6 is not classified as skilled. the 2nd digit needs to be 0, 1 or 2.

At http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp it says:

Note: You must meet the following minimum requirements to apply as a skilled worker:

* You have at least one continuous year of full-time, paid work experience or the equivalent in part-time continuous employment.
* Your work experience must be Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC).
* You must have had this experience within the last 10 years.

You can find the information about NOC codes at http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC-CNP/app/training.aspx?lc=e#8 where it explains that the 2nd letter of the 4 digit code is the skill level and that for skill level A you need the 2nd digit as 1, for skill level B it can be 2 or 3 (sorry I left out the 3) and if you keep on reading, you will see that senior management which is skill level 0 has the 2nd digit as 0. Thanks for the information......
It gives me a better idea on filling up the NOC codes.

Just for the confirmation the NOC codes can be any of the following.

011, 012, 013, 111, 112, 121, 122, 123, 124.

However I found that there are 4 columns in the application. Does that mean I have to add a 0 (Zero) in front of these codes while filling the application. Your suggestion will be very helpful.

You can not use the NOC matrix poster to determine your NOC code because it is only listing the major groups. For example, the poster shows 124, secretaries, recorders and transscriptioners. When you search for the job title of secretary on the NOC website, you get this: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC-CNP/app/quicksearch.aspx?lc=e&searchkey=secretary and you see there are subgroups within 124. 1241, 1242, 1243 etc.

Ok, looking at it again, I see I was wrong. Manager NOC codes have the 2nd and 1st digit reversed compared to everything else. In that case any NOC code that starts with 0 would be ok and for everything else the 2nd digit has to be 1, 2 or 3.

Yes, any NOC code that starts with 0 is skill type 0 and is ok. Only if the NOC does not start with 0 would the 2nd digit have to be 1, 2 or 3. 1 for skill level A, 2 or 3 for skill level B.
