Hi Everyone,

While calculating the point on Express entry calculator tool, I had some confusion while filling below mentioned point.

8. Do you have a valid job offer supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (if needed)?

A valid job offer must be

a. full-time
b. in a skilled job listed as Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or B in the 2011 National Occupational Classification
c. supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or exempt from needing one
d. for one year from the time you become a permanent resident.

I am fulfilling Points a,b and c. But not sure about point D.

Please help me in clearing these doubts :
a. I am already working full-time in Toronto since last one year and I have an open work permit. But I don't know for how many months/year I will continue working in the same firm. Can I use the present job from employer to get eligible for point D as well or we need fresh job of offer from some other employer.
b. I am working full-time as a permanent employee, and not on contract basis. So I have a doubt that how I can get letter from the present employer specifying expected job duration (in years).
c. I have heard that getting a job on an open work permit is very difficult, since all companies prefers PR holder or citizens. So I believe in that case, employers will not prefer giving job to open work permit holder. Correct me if I am wrong.

Please link me to any thread having same concerns.

Thanks.

You're on an open work permit. You cannot claim 50 points for arranged employment unless your employer has an LMIA for you and an offer for at least one year after you become a PR.

If your job is permanent, your offer needs to state that explicitly ("this offer is permanent\of indefinite length etc.). You don't need to mention a period.

Thanks.

I checked the "Verification of Employment" letter given by my employer.
Job status says "FullTime".
Can someone advise me type of letter to be requested from the employer which will help me in this scenario.

anyone said "yes" in this case?
I am working for same company with noc 2175 from more then 1 year, any lead welcome!

You cannot say "yes" - you don't meet the requirements since you're on an open work permit. Your employer would need to obtain an approved LMIA in order for you to be able to claim you have a job offer and get the 50 points.
