Info regarding arriving in Canada! Pakistanis respond please

Hey guys. I have a couple of questions.

1. If my program starts in JAN 2015, and my visa has arrived in OCT 2014, can I travel to canada in October/November? I want to go explore the place and find a suitable accomodation.

2. At the point of entry in canada(Toronto), at the time of getting study permit stamped, do I have to bring along my bank statement? And if so, should it be of the latest date or the same which was used to apply for the visa?

Once you get the visa, than you will know certians things. Wait till then
