Hi,
I am a June 2007 applicant from London office.I am expecting a decision on my application sometimes after Sep. 2010.Currently my elder son is studying his O Levels in a British system school. In Jun 2010 he is expected to take his final exams for O levels,as there is a much chance that my application will not be decided at tht time ,after initial landing i m thinking of coming back n moving permanently in 2011,when he passes his AS (Advanced Supplementary levels abbreviated as AS-level or A/S-level), worth half of a full A-level, or First year of A levels. Now my concern s tht I m completely unaware of Canadian education system ,I need to know wht level Canadian schools have equivalent to AS levels. Will my son have to sacrifice his own year and take admission again in the 11th or 12th grade which he might have already passed by tht time.Any one having complete knowledge abt High schools in Alberta n BC can suggest me wht to do .If thts the case shd i postpone my permanent landing for one more year.

Hello..Try to contact Alberta Education to get your answer straight. According to my knowledge, as my son is attending grade 10 now in Alberta, high school is approved by credits. Kids are placed in grades according their ages, and I’m almost positive that your son will get some credits according to the subjects and marks obtained in London.

thanks very much susane i m going to ask education dept Alberta, but can u give me some basic info such as of how many years high school education is in Alberta,If it is of 12 years do the students have to appear for the exam for 9th & 10th grade jointly n 11th n 12th grade jointly(as it s in the british system) ,or there r separate exams for all all the above mentioned grades, secondly from where r u from originally ,i mean if u ve British education system information can u plz tell me is there a difference of syllabus b/w british n canadian schools?
