Hi,

Has anyone obtained an Indonesian police clearance. I did a dive course in 2015 and stayed there for over 6 months. I didn't have a KITAS and had multiple entries and exits (visa runs) and extensions, an extended holiday really. I mentioned it on my application and now CIC want a clearance letter. I am really stumped and kind dunno what to do.

There are no agencies that will help with this...

Any help would be appreciated..

Thanks In advance

Paddy

If you are not a citizen of Indonesia:
If you live outside of Indonesia:
You should contact your nearest Indonesian Embassy or Trade Office to help you get the police address in the city where you lived in Indonesia or you can ask a recommended Law Firm to help you with your request. You must bring:
  • Copy of your passport that has an Indonesia permit and a valid passport (if applicable)
  • Copy of KITAS (Work Permit)
  • Copy of SKLD (Yellow book/police report)
  • Letter from your employer and other documents related to your work in Indonesia
  • Three (3) colour photos (4 x 6 cm in size)
  • Full set of fingerprints, authorized by local police
  • Applicable fees

Hi.
Thanks for your reply. Yes.this information is pretty much everywhere if you type in Indonesian police clearance. The question is, can I get one without a KITAS? the answer is a resounding no. I was there on a number of tourist visas and never had the need to get one as I wasn't residing there. Just a tourist.

If anyone has any first hand experience of getting a police clearance without a KITAS then please get hold of me.

Hi Paddy!

I have exactly the same situation! Did you get answer to your question? Could you please share?

This is what I found:

https://kemlu.go.id/ottawa/en/pages/police_certificate/627/about-service

"For those visiting Indonesia with a Visit visa, the Police cannot issue a certificate"

Hey,

I never obtained a police cert for Indonesia I just wrote a letter of explanation and this seemed to work, although my application is stalled like the rest of them that applied in 2019 December, due to coronavirus. I believe my circumstances requiring a police cert were very marginal and they dismissed it but if you actually we're living in Indonesia for an extended time then I'd say you need the police cert and cant give you much info. Although If you contact the Canadian fingerprint agency they said that they would give me a report showing I tried and failed for quite a large fee. It never came to that but that could be an option for you.
