Hello,

I am organizing my wife's permanent residence paperwork. My wife and children are Japanese, and are here visa-free for six months. IMM 5443 states that they need "Indication of Status in Canada". If they are here visa-free for six months, do we need to provide anything for this?

Do they have stamps in their passports? We included a copy of the stamped page for my proof of stats (visa-exempt American here). (Of course, CIC managed to lose the copies of my passport, but then, that's a different issue. Ha!)

They do have stamps in their passports. That's all they would need, I'm assuming? Other than that, I don't know what documentation they could provide.

Hi,

How did you solve this issue?
I am also running similar issue here. My wife, Taiwanese, is also visa exempted.
Should I just send them the copy of the stamp showing the date of entry on her passport?
Would that be enough?

Thanks!
