1. If Indian embassy can see your last police verification in their system then you will get PCC with in 7 working days. But if you require a new police verification then the process is longer and it will take atleast 25-30 days. Personal experience and based on what I was told by consular in non-US embassy.

2. If there are any urgent trips then you can request embassy to submit a passport when you collect your PCC. Embassy I applied for were quite flexible and did allow me to keep my passport along with me. If it is VFS then it might be difficult.

3. Your PCC is valid until you visit India again. You can visit India once you have submitted your post ITA application. But if you have to reapply for your PR then you will need a new PCC since you visited India after submission of your post ITA application.

Hope this helps.

I took indian PCC from indin passport sev kendra (PSK) which is located in XYZ city.

The city name is mentioned on that and date i took it is also mentioned on that.

Will this be sufficient.............The city i live is semi urban and it doesnt have PSK and it falls under XYZ city psk area from where my passport was issued.

will this be fine and will 1 pcc with city name and date on it suffice for entire India and my stay in different addresses of the country.

Thanking you.

yours sincerely,
Rrk.

PCC given by PSK covers the whole of India.

Your PCC is valid for as long as you don't enter India. If you visit India, you will need a new PCC. Getting an Indian PCC is still WAY simpler than getting a FBI PCC.
Does visiting the U.S 5 times since i was 18 for the sake of tourism - stints of minimum 3 weeks at a time in some cases 5/6weeks also count towards getting a PCC from USA/fbi?

Who needs a police certificate?
You must get one from each country or territory where you have spent six or more months since the age of 18. For example:
if you visited, worked or lived in a country for two months, left for a few years, then returned for four months, that counts as spending six months there. In this case, you would need a certificate.
For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

Yes, if the total time spent in the US since age 18 is greater than 6 months then you need a FBI PCC.

I guess its continuious 6 months, not total 6 months.

In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate. You must get one from each country or territory where you have spent six or more months since the age of 18. For example:
