Indian PCC, worried with CGI Toronto response.

Hi ,

My Wife got her passport in tatkal scheme and she went through police verification before she got passport & after she got passport. I applied for PCC 4 weeks ago and it hasn't comeback, so i have sent mail to CGI toronto after talking to BLS. CGI toronto is very quick and they responded in couple of hours, and the reply is worrying me.Below is response

"Your wife's application has been referred to COP, XXX for clearance as there is an adverse entry against her passport. We will be able to issue PCC only on receipt of clearance from them."

What do they mean by adverse entry? I got her passport in India by rules.

on your wife's passport is there an entry which says 'review required or some thing like that". because if you get a tatkal passport, on the last page they enter "police clearance required". so you do anything with the passport, the COP clearance is required, and my experiece tells me if you need follow thru back channels to get the pcc within desired time.

I don't remember that and i don't have her passport with me now, so i cannot check that too.

FYA - I had same issues with my passport. Eventually I went once to CGI personally. Spoke to Tirth Singh the Consulate General and explained him the situation. As per their rules if they don't get clearance within 4 weeks. They render the decision and will give you clearance.

Thanks a lot i got hope again. I cannot go to CGI as i live Atlantic Canada.
