In Chicago will they stamp saying PCC issued for Canada of they just give the PCC letters
I applied in NY (Passport issued in India): Got PCC letter + stamp in Passport
for my wife applied in NY after a month (Passport issued in NY) : Got only PCC Letter, no stamp in passport

It seems the procedure is not standard. Someone reported even PSK in India is not stamping the passport. In any case CIC only wants the letter - passport stamp has no meaning

Thanks for the reply.
I applied in Chicago that too via mail.
Just curious when will I get it. Since the passport is gone , the wait seems too long.

Thanks,
Ekta
I applied through mail. It took 14 days. There was a mistake on it and they rectified it in 4 days. NYC consulate.
Don't worry. Consulate people are not perfect but really helpful. :)

I have received the PCC also from Chicago Consulate within 2 days.
But Have a doubt the Certificate says
"There is no adverse information against "My name" which would render her/him ineligible for the grant of travel facilities"

Is this enough for Canada PR PCC ?

Thanks,
Ekta

It took me exactly 1 week to get the PCC from Atlanta Embassy. In person application - passport issued from India and I gave a different address from that on the passport - no verification done whatsoever
Hi, Could you tell me how does the PCC look like? The one I got has no address or my period of stay dates in India. It just says there is no adverse records against me which will stop my travel.

Thanks,
Ekta

Hi @chikoo1985 Could you please share the details of getting the PCC from the NYC via Mail?

It will just have you passport number. No matter how much you ask them, they have one single universal format
Have you used it for Canada PR? Was that accepted? My immigration lawyer is saying the PCC from Consulate is getting rejected.

That shouldn't be the case. What other alternative do people staying outside the country have? My native police station guys from Chandigarh have also told me to get the request from consulate in order to issue the PCC. Did your immigration lawyer suggest any other way?

He is just saying to get it from India so that it will have your permanent address on it?
I am not sure if he is right, but he is giving an example of a person staying in Canada and got the PCC from consulate in Toronto and it got rejected. Although no reason I got yet from him.
When I argued about this process, he agreed to submit this one from consulate, but saying no guarantee if it will be accepted.

Miscellaneous Form + State Id (or any eligible ID like licence )'s notarized copy + Notarized first and last bio pages of the Passport + Original Passport + Money Order + return shipping envelope with label.

Make sure to put recent address in Miscellaneous form so that you need to be worried about your past address changes.

Thank you! One stupid question -- where can I get my id and passport copy notarized?

I did, and yes, it was accepted. This is standard practice for people living outside India. Your lawyer should know this.
