This is to summarize my experience so far while applying for Indian PCC for Canadian Citizenship. Please note that I am still in process of applying, so the information below might not be 100% accurate.
Will try to keep this updated as I progress in the journey.
- Form: Fill up the form using Indian Embassy website (https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in/)
- You'd have to register if you don't have the login already
- It is simple form. Only issue is in your domicile address, they don't ask you City/Province specifically. You'll have to use Address Line 2 or 3 for that.
- Additional documentation
- Checklist - you'll find the checklist on the BLS website.
- I called up BLS Canada and they said the original passport is not required, even though it is written on their checklist. Only photocopy is required. I am not 100% sure about this as I have not fully gone through the process yet. Would like if someone else can confirm.
- If you are on PR (which you have to be if you are applying for Canadian citizenship), then you would also have to give a copy of COPR along with PR card copy. This is not mentioned in their checklist.
- 1 Photograph
- Address Proof
- Submission:
- I went to Toronto BLS center without any appointment.
- I was there at 6:15 AM and my number was #10. So you have to be really early there. There would be a list taped on the glass door. You'd have to write your name there (carry a pen)
- Many people with appointments didn't show up, so Walk-in guys were invited instead. But as day progressed people with appointments started to show up, and they were given preference over Walk-ins.
- I was done by 9:30 AM. Had an issue with the form as I mentioned above.
- Now I will try to submit through mail since I kinda know what documents are required.
Will try to keep this updated as I progress in the journey.
