Indian Passport Renewal Timeline (Toronto Consular Jurisdiction)

Hi Guys,

Hope you're doin great but missing home as much as I do . So I'm currently a PR based out of Toronto, I applied for my general Indian passport renewal and would like to understand about completion timeline in recent times. My application was received at Toronto Consular office on 8th Feb, 24 and since last week (14th Mar) the status on Passport Seva site shows as 'Print has been initiated for passport.' As I have a planned travel to India on 10th April, thus am anxious if my new passport will make its way back to me on time.

Anyone who has recent experience to share or thoughts on the above?

Did you receive your passport in time?

I have also applied for renewal of passport at Toronto Consulate office. The status shows "pending with Consulate General of India" for past 26 days. I am not sure what are they doing wiith my passport for so long. If you or anyone reading this thread has any idea how to track the correct status of the passport renewal application please share .

Hi ,

We finally received our Passport on 15th May after following up with Toronto CGI .

So, the steps we took were:

1) check the status of the passport on ministry of external affairs website (from where you filled the application form)
2) Based on the status email the CGI Toronto , you will get their email address on Ministry of External Affair website.

I applied for Canadian Citizenship, my application is in process and my Indian Passport is due for Renewal.

Reason why I am asking is, I have not been granted Canada citizenship yet.

Hi everyone- need your valuable advice- I applied for passport renewal in Toronto end of September 2024. As of October 3rd 2024 it indicates as processing at Consulate general. It is 21Oct 24 today and still it is processing. I have to travel to India on Dec 4th. however, before that I need to apply for my daughter e visa which can take 4-7 days- no idea. Just want to know how to understand when I will get my passport back. Any advice would help! Terrifed and anxious here!
