I received my passport today. My timeline below:

Oct 01, 2020: Passport renewal application package sent to BLS Brampton via Puralator Pickup
Oct 02, 2020: Confirmation of package receipt email from BLS
Oct 05, 2020: Processing start date
Oct 17, 2020: Police verification initiation email
Oct 27, 2020: Police inquiry at home in India
Nov 18, 2020: https://portal4.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html status changed to "Print has been initiated for passport" from "Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate"
Nov 25, 2020: https://portal4.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html status changed to "Print has been printed". BLS status still "Processing at Consulate General"
Nov 30, 2020: https://portal4.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html status still "Passport has been printed" and BLS status changed to "In transit from Consulate General to BLS Centre"
Nov 30, 2020: BLS status changed to "Dispatched via courier" with Purolator tracking number.
Dec 01, 2020: Passport received!

My passport renewal application status changed from 'Passport has been printed' to 'Passport has been printed and will be delivered shortly' last night (30 November)
It then changed to 'Passport has been handed over to OSP executive for further dispatch to applicant' this morning (1 December).

Any idea how long it takes for passport to be delivered after this status?

I think it should take a couple of days at most.
Your application moved fast. My status changed to Print has been initiated on 26th Nov as well and is still stuck there. I hope it moves soon.
I did sent a note to the embassy today to see if they can expedite but not very hopeful of that.

I have sent my application on October 28, Police Verification Request has been sent on November 17, no updates since then, any one in the same boat? is there way we can contact embassy to get the latest status? I have called them at 416 960 0751, but no one responding to the call, any suggestions?

This timelines scares me. I am facing similar suitation. Got police verification email on 26Nov but no one has called or visited my parents yet.

I initiated my passport renewal application on 11 November.
Got police verification email in 26 November.
No verification done yet.( Parents contacted the police station but no such use)
Status- Passport application under review.
I am really annoyed by these slow timelines. I need to complete my documentation for ITA till 1st February seems difficult. If they take 2 months time just for passport renewal, then when would I apply for PCC.
STUCK IN HERE!!

Yes I'm in similar suitation.
There is no police verification being done after receiving emails.
Did you/parents tried getting in touch with local police station

I have phoned local police station and they mentioned that if no address change no verification needed and verification will be done automatically.

I have a couple of questions regarding the passport renewal process with BLS Toronto.

Following is a timeline of my passport renewal application (60 page booklet - regular application):

27/08 - Submitted in-person at BLS Toronto (Lawrence East)
27/08 - BLS status - Under Process
27/08 - BLS status - In transit from BLS Centre to Consulate General
28/08 - BLS status - Processing at Consulate General
31/08 - passport.gov - Application received; under processing at embassy/consulate
10/09 - passport.gov - Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate.
10/09 - passport.gov - CATxxxxxxxxxxx number shown in application
14/09 - Email for initiation of police verification
16/09 - Documents submitted to Police Verification in India (by family)
20/09 - passport.gov - Passport application has been granted
20/09 - BLS status - Processing at Consulate General

Does this mean the police verification is officially done and I should be receiving the passport soon? It will be 4 weeks this Thursday since I submitted my application.

Can anyone share their experience of how long it takes to receive the passport once it is approved?

As they are currently sending the new passport back by courier, do you need to be present at home to sign for the courier delivery?

Hi Rajat, thank you for the optimistic outlook but I dont see it happening in next 2days for sure. I wish I am wrong and you are right though.

Its been 4 days now and there is no change in status. Actually, the status above means that process has started to dispatch passport from India to Canada. For a couple of other people on this forum, it took 3 weeks after this status.
I had sent an email to high commision and they said it will take min a week for passport to reach Canada and then they will send it to me.

Also, my application hasnt moved fast, its been slower than most. Most have received the passport within the regular 2 months processing time. I will complete 2 months on 9 Dec and I am hoping against hope that I get it by then. If not, I will have to cancel/reschedule a trip to India for which I am supposed to depart on 12th December.

I have my fingers crossed for some good luck next week.

If they dont reapond within 4 working days, then you can send email to cons1.ottawa@mea.gov.in.
