Indian Passport Renewal from BLS Toronto

Can you please tell me how you contacted the consulate. I live in Windsor and need to cross into US very frequently, I need to know if I qualify for Tatkal service? Let me know if I can contact them via phone or email.

I was impressed with BLS this time around. I got my minor child's passport in 2 weeks here are my timelines.The expired passport was obtained in India. I chose pick up and drop service. Location :Toronto

14 July Picked up from home
16 July reached BLS Brampton
17 under process status and on the way to consulate
18 Processing at Consulate General
29 In Transit from Consulate General to BLS Centre
30 Ready for dispatch
31st July Received all original documents and new minor passport

It was very fast and great service.

In the online form which service one has to fill (Passport for children or reissue of passport) which option do I need to select ?

Hey guys. I am a student in the UofA Edmonton. My passport expires on March 2019. I submitted my application in BLS Edmonton on October 12. The status was 'Procession at Consulate General' till 2 days ago. Now (October 29) it says- 'In transit from Consulate General to BLS Centre' The website says it takes 2 months to get a new passport from Alberta. I am not sure if the processing is done or there is something wrong in the application.

The processing is done and you should receive the passport by the local courier in a couple of days... you will see a updated tracking# in a day or so

You can courier BLS your passport and the application forms, from the comfort of your home in Windsor

In Vancouver, it took only a week for the renewal.

Hi. When we apply for a passport in India, they usually do a police verification thru the nearest police post. Could u plz tell me if they do that for passport renewal applications submitted @ Canada too? Do they wait for police verification from local police post in India?

We have to fill all forms including police verification forms too but I am not sure how do they proceed with overseas applications. As I said, I got my renewed passport within a week, they may verify at the later stage. I don't know exactly.

I'm planning to use the courier pick up and drop facility. Could someone please confirm the amount on the certified cheque? Are 2 separate cheques required as per checklist? The website says make cheque including courier fees but I can see a page where we can make $35 payment for pick up and drop. Hence I'm confused.

Also do we need to include a separate self-addressed envelope in the package for the return of the new passport?

Is the marriage certificate and address proof also required in original or copies suffice?

I agree BLS is confusing on their payment methods.
I paid the courier fee online using my credit card. And included one certified cheque by totalling all the applications fees . And it was accepted .
You don't need a self addressed envelope .you mention the drop off address when you sign up courier pick up and drop.

Don't know about Vancouver but I Submitted my passport for renewal at BLS Toronto branch on January 14th. As of today, i.e., January 26th, it is still showing "Processing at Consulate General". Will update you guys if there's any changes
