Indian Passport Renewal - After landing in Canada

Dear All,

My sons passport is due to expiry in few months, do we have the option to renew it from Canada itself through Indian Embassy, I don't prefer to travel back just for renewing the passport.
Please comment.

Yeah we can get the Indian passport renewed here in Canada. If you are staying in Toronto, then it shall be done at BLS Canada office

Dear All,
Once the passport is renewed, do we need to update our records with IRCC in any way?
I completed my soft landing at the end of April and am back in Dubai where I wish to renew my passport.
