Hi everyone. I am 25 years old with 2 years of work ex as a software dev in I.T. My graduation stream was in Electrical Engineering. I am looking to do a course in management in Canada (preferably masters in management) My aim is to apply for P.R in Canada. However , I have just started my research and have a few queries-

1. How do I get an idea whether doing a particular course will open up good job opportunities in Canada? For ex- I am still researching the subject in which I want to get a masters in management. Uptil now, I have been able to find masters in Engineering management and project management as courses which look relevant for my profile. Are they good keeping in mind the canadian job market?

2. Which are the cities and states where have the maximum part time job opportunities along with job fairs? My thought is that while looking for a university these 2 things are of importance along with the course.

Doing a masters solely to gain backdoor entry into Canada is a bad idea which will drain your savings with no guarantee of recovery. The whole Canadian system of pr without a job offer is a scam, it's like gambling where only the house stands to gain.
If you must go to Canada on pr, try express entry or the pnp route, you are young and it will happen. The country doesn't mind dishing out pr as most immigrants will lose money on their economy. Apply for university only if you are a good student and can bag a full scholarship. At least, you will gain something from the degree

At your age, getting a PR sitting in India would be easier. You can also choose to study in India and still qualify for PR

1. Getting a job depends on where you study from and what your skills are and how you can adapt

2. Every province has these. You just need to find what will get you a study visa if that is your choice. To use any of the opportunities inside, you need to figure out a way to get in

Do your due diligence on whether you want to spend that money and come study or study and get the PR and land. Getting a study permit is no mean task either

Best of Luck

I believe those days of sitting in India and getting a PR are over or at least going to get very difficult. With the number of applicants plus the applications in the backlog and a general trend to reduce PR intake under the federal skilled worker scheme, if you don't have a job offer or a Canadian education and experience, you cannot make the cut-off. The recent cut-off on 6th July all program draw was 557, which is very high and expected to come down but still will remain 500+ or at the minimum 490+. An applicant in his/her 20s with a master's in India and job experience of 3+ years and a perfect IELTS can only get 485 points, which in the current scenario will not be enough. with the passing of the bill C-19 expect Canada to become like Australia where they pick applicants depending on their NOC and not on who has more points.

So getting a Canadian education or Canadian job offer is going to be the only route in the future.
