Hi everyone,

I am currently in Canada, I got points for my home country foreign experience (38 points) for 3 years which I worked when I was studying full time in India..

In my belief the indian experience counts even if you are studying right? means its not like Canada that the experience after education only counts..

Please let me know
Please help asap..
Thank you..

I think experience starts after study is completed ?
Because its post study work experience ?

Tell more about your education ?
Full time/part time or is it a professional course(ca/cs/icwa) or what...
Rather explain your profile in detail which helps us in understanding and telling more.

its full time bachelors (B.com) in india... my education was from 2007 to 2010 (3 years) and i worked full time from 2007 to 2011..

but if it is after education, why did i get points for that??
I know the rule in Canada is after education you get points for experience but dont know about home country..

How did you study and work full time simultaneously? CIC will question that.

As a rule full-time work experience while studying outside Canada is acceptable to CIC if you apply under FSW category only (not in CEC except for NOC 4012).

Do you have any reference to what you said? Because till i know both category are the same.. its just the financial proof of funds showing differently.. so work experience outside canada while studying should also be the same applicable..

I got selected under cec and i got points for full time job which i did while studying in india.. so just worried if it is fine..

If you are applying under CEC, then work experience accrued while you were studying does not count, no matter where in the world your studies and/or work were.

Please read on IRCC website here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/mi/express-entry.asp

And on a forum similar discussion thread here...http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/work-experience-while-studing-t399930.0.html;msg5019763#msg5019763

yes work experience during full time studies is acceptable In FSW. Even i claimed points for Foreign work experience during study.

As per the new rule if you are eligible for fsw and cec both, cic will automatically select your file under CEC category as per the new draws concerned.. and i have 465 points which included my foreign experience in india for which i got points already which is around 30 points.. so so i wouldnt be selected under fsw.. so i think i cant help it.. but anyways i got points for that experience even if it was studies with job.. i dont knw hownit goes.. hope my file doesnt get rejected due to that reason..

yes i claimed points for part time foreign work experience. But i got invite in CEC.

Only restriction i see is you cannot claim points or use part time work experience within canada during study period.

varinder, do you have pay slips or copy of returns you paid as your income tax. if yes than you will not be rejected

Even I am not 100% sure if i m following right path. I think it would be great help if someone who actually claimed points for part time Foreign work exp during studies and got PPR(applied under CEC) can reply on this thread.
