Hey guys on June 17, I applied for a Canadian Student Permit online. On June 19 I got the information that my application is under review! I am an Indian citizen born and residing in the Bahamas. I am a little worried I will not get my visa in time for my university's orientation on August 28. I understand once my application is approved my visa must be sent to the Canadian High Commission in Jamaica, I was told it took two months by someone else who got the permit, I'm not entirely sure how accurate that claim may be. Will I get my visa in time before orientation, is my first question.
In the Canadian Immigration Centre there is a page to check application times, and it asks where are you applying from, for the Bahamas it says it takes 2 weeks but from India it takes 5 weeks. I must remind you again I applied from the Bahamas.
Second question is my father also wants to apply for Canadian visitor visa but in one of the questions in the survey it is asked, "Are you accompanying a family member that has status in Canada, or has recently been approved to come to Canada?" But I have not been approved to come to Canada! What should I do to answer this question? Should I put yes or no?
