Yes it is!!! Its hard sometimes to get pcc from commissioner office so passport kendra is the best option to obtain one..the validity is for six months...

How to get a Police Certificate:
If you are a citizen of India:
If you live in India:

For residents of Punjab: You can apply to your local Senior Superintendent of Police, or the senior ranking police official at the police station in your District.

For residents of other states: You can apply at your local District Police Station.

For residents of Delhi: You can apply at your local District Police Station or online on the Delhi Police website or on the Passport India website. The Web site will list what information and documents you need. If you apply online, your certificate will be returned to you electronically.

I am a resident of "Other States" so for me it should be only from "District Police Station"? or Passport Seva Kendra PCC will be acceptable?

For residents of Punjab - PCC from Passport sewa kendra is also acceptable. As I know some of my friends who did get the PCC for FSW2014 and it was acceptable in their case.

Passport Seva Kendra is a facilitator of sorts.

You apply at the PSK.

They inform the relevant police station about your application.

A verification is conducted by the police personnel.

They send your report to the PSK.

PSK then asks you to come and receive your PCC from the PSK.

If your passport is less than a year old, no police verification is required and the PSK will issue you a PCC the same day as you apply.

Bottom line - If you are NOT from Delhi, no one knows if PSK PCC will be accepted.

At the same time a number of applicants are still going for this, as its much easier than getting a PCC from local Police station..

I am personally going for both, will submit with PSK PCC in case my Police station PCC is delayed. I will submit the Police PCC via CSE later once its available.

Earlier they used to accept PCC from PSK. Now it is not clear?

CIC page was modified :

Earlier, PSK was also listed. But now, it is removed.
Its upto you on how you want to get it now (in spite of instruction from CIC) but as per CIC page, other than Delhi, you shud get it from Police Office.
