Hi,

In two days, i am applying for PR under canadian experience class. Recently, I applied for police clearance certificate in india (kodagu district, karnataka) with the help of my relatives. My local district superintendent of police issued me police clearance report. They issued me certificate on a white paper with, ledger number, date, details of my passport & address, seal on my photograph and mentioned that i have no criminal records. The standard round Seal says- superintendent of police kodagu district

All the dates, address and seal are fine. But, in the certificate, they have not mentioned GOVERNMENT OF INDIA at all, rather they are just mentioning 'Karnataka state'. I asked them about mentioning india in the certificate. They said, that is their standard format and they are not going to change.

I am confused, when I send this certificate to CIC, they will reject on the basis that there is no country name.

Can anyone experienced suggest in this regard. Is it ok to send PCC to CIC without country name (just mentioning only state and district name)

Thanks in advance for your precious opinion and suggestions..................

Hi Raks123,
In my opinion, you should contact nearest passport office and get a PCC from them. The reason being, they have a standard format in English which is highly detail oriented and has a digital photograph of candidate with all required seals and signatures. If you are currently in India then this can be obtained in a days time.
As an applicant, you want to make VOs job easy. If they have to spend time on a document that is not standardized then that may lead to delays in processing or request for additional documentation.
Hope this helps.

I would suggest you get your PCC from Indian consulate serving your area of residence. Its very simple process and you get you PCC in 2-3 weeks.
