India Police Clearance Certificate

Hello folks,

I applied for the police clearance certificate from the Houston Consulate, India in the middle of November. I haven't received it yet and the deadline to submit is early Feb. I had sent out an email to the Consulate at the end of December and they said that they hadn't received the clearance from India at that time. I have sent them emails after that, but they haven't replied. One of the reasons that may have been contributing to this maybe that my passport is a tatkal passport. Or can it be because of that? Do you guys have any suggestion for me at this point? I'm going nuts with anxiety.

if your passport is issued from local indian consulate then PCC should be one day affair, but if it is issued from India then it takes 2 weeks for some one in India to receive the PCC. In your case once they receive PCC , it has to be shipped to Houston ( may be that will take time)? Are you planning to go to India anytime soon? If you are may you should apply for PCC in India and get it there itself. Just a suggestion. I hope you feel better. At this point if you choose to wait for embassy to respond then there is nothing much you can do but if you need more ways to get what you want, I suggested one.
