Incorrect fee paid

Hello, when I applied for the Open Work Permit I only paid $155 (in March), it was only through this site i discovered I should have paid $255, what would people recommend to do in order to pay the extra $100?

I sent the OWP application in with my PR application so i don't think they have attempted to process it yet.

I accidentally paid $1000 instead of $1040 for my husbands sponsorship.
Someone here advised me to go online to CIC to pay the fees page. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp
Then choose any fee that would cover amount you still owe to pay. Keep the payment receipt, and write an explanation for an officer on a separate sheet.

I did that for $50 and my application was processed just fine. They also refunded $10 on my credit card

Thanks Monna, when I applied for the Work Permit i was required to send a copy of the receipt in with it but you advise I keep the receipt. How would I get the explanation to the officer, would I post it?

Did you send you app yet? You have to provide them with original receipt for sure.
Sorry, I meant you need to keep a copy of on-line receipt for difference and send off online receipt as well.

There is another option to pay entire amount again, and they will refund your first payment.
But you will wait longer for your money back.

In my explanation letter I just wrote that I accidentally made payment for wrong amount. This is why please find attached receipt for missing amount. Please apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused.

Hi. I submitted my PR Application + OWP in March 2015 and just found out I paid incorrect fee for owp - 155$ instead of 255$.

Since you had similar case, can you advice what u did? Did you sent the balance payment with explanation letter ? Was it accepted by processing centre ?

The cic agent told me that I can try to send balance payment but there's no guarantee that they will be able to match against my case.

Unfortunately, almost everyone here that has underpaid the OWP fee has had their OWP application returned. You will likely need to wait to receive it, and then re-submit it again with the proper receipt. Your ` 4 month processing time will then likely start all over again.

Hi! Same case, here! What did you do, on that case? My visa is about to expire, and they didn't revised my application, yet. How did you send them the receipt you forgot to attach?

If you paid the wrong amount and your visitor status is expiring soon, you need to apply to extend it.

I forgot to attach the receipt of my payment. For BOWP, there's another fee that we should pay directly to them, before submitting the application. So, I don't know how to send this receipt that I forgot to attach to my application...
