I received an ITA on July 12th, and submitted my e-AOR on Oct. 10th. On Oct 25th I received a decline mentioning that my Police certificate from my home country does not cover the complete period of stay as I mentioned in my travel/address history.

I left my country in August 2009, and my PCC was up till January 2009. My question is, if I apply again for PCC should it cover the period up till August 2009. Or should it also cover the period I visited my home country for 10-15 days, twice in last 8 years, i.e. Nov. 15th till Nov. 30th in 2009 and Jan. 2nd - Jan 20 in 2013.
I could not find the answer online, so any suggestions with link to info. resources shall be welcomed.

Also, can I use the same Medical I had for my canceled application. It was done in September 2017 and will it be valid for November ITA?
Thank you very much.

Your PCC needs to be up to Jan 20, 2013. It needs to be issued after and cover the entire period up to and including the last time you were in the Country.

Medical can be re-used, but you may have to ask your doctor to upload it again - not sure - anyone else in the forum have more information on this?

I'm very surprised that you didn't click on the question mark button next to to upload PCC. It will explain in details and give you a link also. Anyway, here is the link.

Hi omicrondelta,
I'm a little confused, as OdinNguyen's link DOES answer the question I THOUGHT you were asking. Could you try rephrasing your question for us, so we can better assist you?

My understanding is that you're asking what dates your police clearance certificate needs to cover, considering your last date in the country was January 20, 2013.

The link provided has the following information in it (see underlined sections specifically):

For example: if you visited, worked or lived in a country for two months, left for a few years, then returned for four months, that counts as spending six months there. In this case, you would need a certificate.

If you need a police certificate from a country or territory and:

  • are currently living there, or received the police certificate before leaving, the police certificate must be issued within six months before you apply.
  • have lived there in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory.
*Keep in mind that 'lived' doesn't actually mean 'lived' .'Visiting' is included in 'lived, since the point of the PCC is to ensure you didn't commit any crimes while you were in the country, and since you can commit crimes when you're visiting (even if only visiting for just a few hours), these periods are included as well.

Like all of the above said, in the link it makes it clear: Visits ARE included! And if you go back for another visit you'll have to get an even newer PCC. This is why you got rejected for an incorrect PCC

I considered LIVED and VISITED are different. And I was LIVING in my current country of stay, and my country of birth was a country I was visiting for few days. Thus, I omitted the dates. But now I stand corrected. Thank you.
