I did soft landing last year in October with my family and now planning to move permanently. Can anyone guides about what documents need to be filed for Income Tax and from where it can be download.
If I want to file, can I?
Can you share the links where I can find the returns and other docs.
Further, For claiming benefits upon re-landing, don't I require to file tax return?
There is information on the CRA website about tax laws and returns but you can't file there. You can use a tax software or request the assistance of a tax professional for assistance. Personally I use Simpletax for my return but I am an accountant so it is relatively easy for me.
Technically if you didn't become a tax resident you shouldn't be filling. If you declare yourself as resident you need to declare all your worlwide income from your the date you became a resident and pay tax on that income (minus any tax credits based on tax paid in other countries if applicable).

Find out a free/paid software that will allow you to file 2017 returns as non-resident. Once you have provided all the information, software will prepare pdf for you that you can print out and then mail to your tax center.
