Hi all

I am planning on sponsoring my mom in 2019. Form what i know , I will have to meet income requirements for 2015, 2016 and 2017 in order to file for my mom and will have to maintain it through out the process.

Can anyone tell me the income requirement for a family of 2 and family of 3 for 2015?

If I have self employment income, the CIC will look at the net income or the gross?

One more question, if i use my common law partner income now, to meet the income obligations for 2015 and by the time I gonna apply for my mom, I am no longer in relation, will the income of my common law partner will be included or not?

Thanks in advance

Yes - you need to meet LICO in 2015, 2016, and 2017 in order to submit a sponsorship application in 2019. You can find the LICO tables in the guide:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5772ETOC.asp

If you are no longer in a common law relationship by the time you sponsor your mother, then only your income will be considered. No - your common law partner's income will not be considered since you are no longer in a relationship.

Hi Scylla,

Can I file the application in 2017 if I have an eligible income from only 2014 and 2015 (I was a student in 2013)?

Thank you

No. It's mandatory to have three years of income in a row that meets LICO. You have to wait one more year.

The guide doesn't tell the income requirement of 2015

That's because CIC hasn't published it yet. The 2015 requirement won't be published until the end of this year. You have to look at previous years and guess by how much it will go up by.
