Hello Everyone.
We are JUST about to submit our application via Common Law Status. The only think left for us to do is get the letters from a couple friends. I'm wondering if my current job status will have an effect on our application.

Long story short....
We met online a little over 4 yrs ago. A few months later we met for the first time and spent every Thurs-Sun together. He travelled to Kingston, On from Rhode Island EVERY week. Almost 3yrs ago we bought a home together (he was still travelling from RI weekly) A little over 2yrs ago were fortunate enough to have his Company transfer him to Ontario!!! He's been on a work permit since then. So lucky he never had to leave his Company or lose any years served.
My issue at the momment is this...I am currently laid off from work. I suspect to be back working by March. He is really the bread winner in the relationship. He makes a great paycheck and has a solid job with 17 yrs with the company.
Will my job status be an issue?

Thanks in advance :)

I just can't see any problem with this application.

Exactly. No issue at all with that.

As long as you are not on social assistance you are good to go!!

No you only need the income to sponsor extended family. I have been a stay at home mom to our three kids for the past 6 years and I got approved to sponsor my husband.

;D ;D Thanks SO much for easing my mind. I wasn't sure if it would be an issue.
I AM collecting Unemployment insurance at the moment though.
