I have called Canadian Immigration 100 times with questions, I have only been able to get through twice. Both times I have recieved different answers for the same questions. But, here is one I am still unsure about. My wife, who I am sponsoring, has a 5 year old son with an ex boyfriend. I have included him in every aspect of the application, he has undergone the medical checks and all that good stuff. But, me and her also have a 5 month old son, who was born in Thailand. But, for him I just need to apply for Proof of Citizenship. So my question is, does he need to be included in the "Application To Sponsor And Undertaking" form? It asks, Non-Accompanying and Accompanying Dependent Children. One Immigration Officer told me yes, one told me no. So I'm pretty confused, I have included him in other parts of the forms, such as "Additional Family Information".
On a seperate note, paying the fees, I will be able to pay the Principal Applicant fee, and the Sponsor fee. I will not be able to afford the Permanent Resident fee, until June 1st. I would still like to go ahead and submit the application this coming Monday with the other receipts. Can I send in the Permanent Resident Payment, on June 1st to Mississauga? Would this still delay the processing time by 1-2 months?
I got a hold of Immigration first go. Which is a first, there's alot of people trying to get into this country it appears, haha. You're right, our son does not need to be included in the application. Just thought I'd post the confirmed answer if others were curious. Definitley have to take notes of the names of the people you deal with, half the time it seems like they're giving you their OWN interpretation of the form, and have no real definitive answer to give.
