My husband is canadian and I am filipino. We have been married and living in Manila for 23 years. Our daughter is studying in BC for college and our 13 year old daughter wants to join her sister in Bc (kids are all canadian). she will be enrolling in secondary school this year. With my kids there and husband staying in BC most of the time, would you recommend for our application to be in Canada? I am just worried that the application inCanada will take more than two years and I wont be able to visit my family back home (mom and siblings). I have been reading the Inlander forum and it seems that their applications are taking so long to be processed. Please someone enlighten me on this. Thank you

1. If you don't have a TRV (visitor visa) then it would be quite difficult to do a "in-Canada" as you have to be in Canada, and it is likely that one won't be issued.
2. Do an out of Canada spousal, then processing time, 68 days Mississauga and 4-8 months for 80% of the applications in Manila. If there is no other marriages or problems in your background, I would think that you application will be at the shorter end of the processing time.

Thank you so much for your reply! I do have a multiple entry TRV and had been visiting my daughter in BC. My question is, if i apply outbound, and if in case I need to be interviewed in Manila, I would have to leave my daughter in Canada and she is only 13. (My husband has to be in Manila for 6 months to take care of selling our properties) We are planning on leaving for Canada this April so we can register our daughter for school (they say the earlier we register her in public school the better). Will the interview and the processing take time cos I cant leave her for too long? That's the reason we are considering inbound because I cant stay away too long. But If it will only take a week or two, I will definitely do the outbound processing. If the difference in months of processing for outbound and inbound is a difference only of two or three months, then I think i wouldn't mind doing the inbound, but if it will take a year more then outbound processing would be a better option? Thank you again for your help.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
The inland processing can definitely take more than a year and in that time, you would be advised to stay in Canada.

Not everybody gets called for an interview with outland. In your case, I think it's very unlikely since you have been together for a long time and have kids. Usually interviews are required when immigration doubts the relationship.
