We met in 2010 Married in 2013,lived together in Cuba for several months I travel there every 6-8 weeks for a couple of weeks to a month at a time and we live in a house together. Do the same things as most couples do shop for food, cook do laundry etc. We love music , food sightseeing and entertainment. We had 625 pages in our application. So lots of proof. Luck of the draw in my opinion We will celebrate 4 years of marriage Sept 26,2017 hopefully in Canada.

It is nice to know that some MP's help however my MP said he could not help with our application but could call and get information after the application was beyond the wait time allocated. We applied July 11,2014 and was interviewed Jan4,2016. Denied March 22,2016. Appealed April 22,2016 ADR Dec 20,2016. CIC call center agent said we should get visa in August 2017. More then 3 years in the system . So those that get help are fortunate
My MP is quite helpful
I guess it depends on the MP

In the dominican republic the interviews are held every 3 months.... the next ones are at the end of this month and they called those who are in it, 30 days prior.

Those are people who applied in mid 2016 so far. My application was sent in Dec 2016. So it looks like we will probably only be in the next batch... hoping!

I've had people that applied after me get interviews in June from New Delhi Visa Office. I really wish they can give us our interviews considering we applied so long ago!!! Do you think if the last round in India was June then the next one would be after three months being September......NDVO said they would contact us in August, think that's for the interview? So frustrating!

The mystery of immigration..... How do you know about the interview procedure in the Dominican Republic (three months) Where did you find that information? Does every visa office have a system?

Because i have been told so by the ones who have been through the process and that are now helping others with their applications.
Last interviews were in May, i know who got their interviews then. Next ones are end of August and again i know some of them who were called end of July with their interview dates....

Hi, you are right about the Dominican interviews! Happens every three months. I hear the woman is quite a treat! My husband is also from Dominican, we weren’t interviewed but my best friend and her husband were and they got denied. All of the people my husband knows have also been denied, which I called due to 20+ year age gap.

Anyways, reading through your thread, I know this probably has nothing to do with it, but from what I’ve seen, every time somebody contacts the Mexican immigration office asking the status of their file, magically they are in the queue for an interview! Obviously not a fact, but seems to be a common thing.

yikes! that sounds scary! We got a letter from NDVO in May telling us they will start working on our file in June and get in touch with us in August. I've been wanting to contact my MP but my husband insists that we wait until August is done to respect when they said they would contact us. So scary working with these people. I hope we don't get declined. I turned 40 this year, my husband is three years older, we got married late (for our age) and now I feel like the longer we are kept waiting the smaller the chance of us having a child :( I wrote this in a letter for additional evidence but I guess they don't care.

It’s difficult to know what they are looking for! No cases are ever the same. You can compare files side by side and different immigration officers can find different flaws! Its possible to be selected at random, or to have red flags in a file, but as long as there is the evidence to back up your relationship there is no need to worry!

Out of everyone i know who got interviewed got in fine, only one person didnt get it out of many that i know.
My MP verified as well and know i am really in queue for the interview. Many were told at the same time as me, some got their interview this month and some like me are still waiting.

Oh no! Not trying to scare anyone! I meant that all of the people we know having been denied were definitely not genuinely married for love! I think they randomly interview people all the time. They might have only one question they want to know or they may have many. I can’t imagine being the interviewer, holding peoples lives in their hands, not actually knowing these people only what they see in paper. Of course people are nervous in the interview this could be the most important day of their lives, and they could be reading into it differently. For example, the interviewer denied my friend because they thought the husband only wanted her money, he didn’t know answers to questions such as the name of her baby daddy... but they are estranged and she doesn’t associate with him so it was never a topic. Things you don’t think would be important are questions they may have for you.

Sorry didn’t mean they deny everyone! I should have explained better!

Actually they cant expect someone to know all, but you need to give a good explanation as to why. I know many who got interviewed and didnt have all the answers, but a good explanation of why worked for them.
I agree the ones i have seen getting denied didnt look genuine to me so i can only imagine to an officer.. :-O
