My papers are currently "in process" at the Caracas office. They started processing my husband's file July 30th, 2010. I heard average was 6 months....is that not the case. I see some are waiting a really long time.. Should I be worried?

No worries... we are all waiting (10 days short of one year waiting for me). Patience does it.
Best of luck.

Hi Gatita!. Mine is an in-land spousal application. I am on the final stage (after "Decision Made") and apparently only waiting for my landing appointment letter from my local office. E-cas has been very helpful telling me the different stages and dates of my process. In-land applications take between 12 and 18 months to be finalized, so at just shy of 12 months, I'm actually ahead of schedule.

According to my account on CIC website... my situation is the following...

We receive your application for permanent residence on October 26, 2010.

Hi Gatita, Visa's issued out of Caracas are currently running at a rate of 80% of applications issued within 18 months. Your MP is a great tool to utilize once you get close to over the 18 months term. Unfortunatley, things like number of applications processed and background checks lead to a longer processing times than other embassies. If you have a straightforward case, you should see your application processed sooner however with immigration there are no guarrantees. I have added the link below which shows you processing times. You can also follow your application status using the ECAS tool https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en
