I'm starting to wonder the same thing. It's freaking me out.a0 said:There seems to be a lot of applications with this status at the moment. Something is not right.
You are all speculating. Wait and see what happens with these folks. I monitor all the U.S. related threads as about 4 months worth of the monthly threads and so far there is no evidence that "in process" doesn't mean exactly what it has before...that they are looking at the file and at least in the case of U.S. applicants, a decision will be made within 2-4 weeks, if not sooner.Edin2Van said:Yeah I'm increasingly convinced it's not as straightforward as it used to be and is possibly something to do with the the on-going updates to the entire ECAS platform, or a glitch in the system.
No offence to them, but there's people apparently seeing "In Process" on their PR application literally the next day after getting sponsor approval. Sadly I can't possibly see how that can mean a decision on their application is imminent in the same way it traditionally has.
Well, I did say so far.CamL-W said:Thank you rugrat907 !
Very true. But let's stay positive and just believe CIC is feeling generous and making a push on family sponsorships!rugrat907 said:Well, I did say so far.
But I don't understand why people would the meaning of "in Process" would change just because there are more of them all of a sudden. Could well be that CIC is simply making a push on family sponsorships right now.
It's absolutely speculation, but I don't think it's at all unreasonable to suggest that given the sudden spike of people seeing "In Process" in the last week or so on ECAS that those of us who have seen this take it with a pinch of salt.rugrat907 said:You are all speculating. Can you explain where you're seeing "In Process"?a0 said:There seems to be a lot of applications with this status at the moment. Something is not right.
I think when they start processing they clearly mention on Ecas that we start processing on your file...........this date, if nothing is typed under in process, that means they did not touch your file.jamsham12 said:Pretty sure if it changed from application received to "in process" after many months in ECAS there is some type of movement on your application.
Maybe it means something for outland. I know that it means nothing for inland.jamsham12 said:Pretty sure if it changed from application received to "in process" after many months in ECAS there is some type of movement on your application.
Yeah, that's definitely the difference between what you are experiencing and what someone who has filed outland would experience. The timelines are considerably different.GustavesF said:Maybe it means something for outland. I know that it means nothing for inland.
In this case it's not the timelines that makes the discrepancy.rugrat907 said:Yeah, that's definitely the difference between what you are experiencing and what someone who has filed outland would experience. The timelines are considerably different.
