I'm in the same boat. Did my test/interview in Vancouver on August 11. I didn't declare all of my day trips to the USA, so the interviewing agent told me she would have to check with CBSA. She assured me it wouldn't be a significant delay (in getting my oath date), but reading all your experiences, I am not so sure anymore....

But I did declare ALL of my day trips to the US, with exact dates, eight of them total in the last four years. The officer just didn't want take my word for it. He said he wanted to make sure I don't fall short since I've applied with only 1462 days, but I think that was just a pretext. He didn't like me from the start. It was obvious just by the way he was grilling me about my old passport and my distant past, pre-PR time; questions that had nothing to do with the requirements for citizenship, really.

Like I said earlier, my friend at work she applied at the same office a year and half ago. They approved her on the spot. No need for CBSA report. And she had more than just day trips to the US. She had two-week long absences. But no problem in her case. They just accepted her declaration.

That's the epitome of unprofessionalism -- when you don't have a consistent way of handling cases, and the process depends on the whim of the adjudicating officers.

I stayed in this country for entire required period before applying for my citizenship. My coworker applied for the Citizenship after I passed my test, and what ? She got her citizenship 5 months ago. So yep, there is no standard they follow, and the worst thing is the anxiety you feel from complete uncertainty and lack of any explanation.
Your waiting game just started and I do hope it will end soon for you, I wouldn't wish anyone to go through CIC's backlog.. it's bloody purgatory.

You're right. And I know that. I'm just growing restless with no news at all.

I would feel better if they sent me a written request for further information. This way, at least I would know that they're looking at my file. But waiting like this, it's awful. Nothing in the mailbox, nothing in the e-mail, and no change in ECAS.

Seriously, I don't know what the point is in calling us for an exam and having us prepare for it if they're just going to sit on our files for who knows how long afterward.
The waiting game makes the person impatient and little anxious and obviously it's human nature and it happens. Don't worry. All I can say is pray and regularly check your email, physical mail and e-cas. Keep up your spirits high! Stay motivated and enjoy your life.

Great! Congratulations!

So you should expect the oath letter from next 3 days to 2 months.

For someone people in this forum, it took anywhere around 1 week to 2 months to receive oath letter.

Thank you all! I posted the news from my phone at work as soon as I checked the online ECAS. Yes, a relief indeed!

I was worried that their decision was going to take ages, judging by the stories in here, and that I was going to have to appear in front of a Citizenship Judge with a very thick stack of pay stubs that link up with each other -- just to establish 1460 days of presence. I had saved those stubs over the last four years for precisely this purpose. I'm glad this won't be necessary.

As for the oath notice, I don't know if you all are aware but there's this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/citcer/search-recherche-eng.aspx from CIC that posts all oath ceremonies, and where you can search by your province. I've been using it, and it looks like up to now, my Hamilton office has been having a ceremony once a week. I hope that's the case going forward.

There was one guy in here with handle allawy86. He took the test with me at the same date, same office. Since he got approved at the interview, he got the oath letter literally ten days after. I don't know if that means I'm going to get an oath letter in ten days but I hope it won't be three months.

You are lucky that you have an oath ceremony every week....here in Edmonton there was only one on September 13 :( . No other date posted. So I guess the Edmonton applicants are in for a wait.... But I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that you will get your invite soon!
