In-Person Oath and Passport timeline for US resident

Paper application Dec 2022. Indian passport holder, moved to US in Aug 2022 on L1 visa. Updated US address on file.
Received oath invite to attend the ceremony in Mississauga, along with my 8 yr old son,
1. My son got his own invite. Does he need to attend the ceremony? He does not have any valid ID (and his PR card) other than his Indian passport. Is that enough?
2. I need to return to the US immediately - since my son will miss school. Can I apply for expedited passport the next day? (The letter says to wait 2 business days after certificate)
3. If I decide to return to the US with my Indian passport, will it complicate my Indian passport surrender and OCI application?
4. I have need to travel to India in February. Can I travel on Indian passport and surrender while in India? (provided I get my Canadian passport before that)
5. Can I apply for Canadian passport in a office in Vancouver and request them to ship to USA? (I stay 2 hours from Vancouver and can travel there to apply in person and also possibly to go there and pick it up - but all these will count as travel on Indian passport)

I've done a lot more reading since I wrote this and think I have answers for atleast a couple.
2. Should not be a problem to use the Indian passport for travel because of grace period of 3 months, I'm assuming, within these 3 months, there is no limitation on the number of trips.
5. Applying for passport later from Vancouver seems to be possible.

Any inputs on the rest?
For in-person ceremony, do we get the certificate immediately?

You do get certificate during the ceremony if you are doing in person.
