1. Most likely, you will have problem at the time of study permit renewal. You will have to submit transcript along with the renewal application, ask yourself how will you manage transcript for the 6 months of deferred period. Your choice, I would say don't play with rules.

please advise me too.don't leave me alone.
what if i don't want to defer 1 semester but will be on visitor status for 1 sem. because i m looking for course which is available in sept. intake only and if apply for that course directly from india my visa will be rejected because it would be study mismatch since i will opt for business and IT related program and i have background in marketing.
so please tell me will there be any problem in extention or off campus work permit or post graduate work permit or PR?
Hmm..you are right.thanks for the info.enfield said:Hi,
1. At present there are no rules which restrict international students from dropping one/two semesters as long as they hold a valid study permit.
Now, CIC is working on a new system.
I quote CIC;
"Furthermore, to help eliminate abuse of student visas, changes are being made to ensure that the primary intent of an international student in Canada is to study. Currently, foreign nationals are able to apply to any Canadian school or business offering training in Canada and need only demonstrate an intent to study – there is currently no requirement for them to actually pursue studies once in Canada and no way of tracking whether they do. These changes would provide CIC the authority to request evidence from study permit holders to verify their compliance with study permit conditions. International students would be removed from Canada if they fail to meet new requirements."
In short, do not play with rules, you can not underestimate the importance of your study permit (a license that could change your life!).
