Hi There,
This is abt my friend who has been here on work permit and got married to Canadian citizen and moved in with her and she applied for his sponsorship along with application for converting his temporary work permit to open work permit. But just within 2 months of marriage, he moved out as they were not getting well along and they are not even talking on good terms. Now i have following questions:
- What will happen to his existing work permit, can he get it restored back, his open work permit application is still in process as wait time is longer
- How should he proceed with his PR application as for sure it will not work as they are not even living together
Any suggestion on this will be really helpful.
thanks

First of all, that girl should fill a form and retract her sponsorship.
Second your friend can apply through express entry system or provincial nominee program for PR.
Or he should get married to someone else in Canada right away *sarcasm/joke*

If either the sponsor or the applicant allows the application to continue to be processed, knowing that the relationship is over...they will be committing misrepresentation and/or fraud.

The sponsor needs to remember that she will be financially responsible for him for 3 years beyond the date that he lands (if he is approved). It's also likely that he would have a conditional PR (Condition: 51), meaning that they would need to live together for two years once he becomes a PR...which isn't going to happen, right.

These are the kind of stories that make legitimate couples sick! You know, the ones that are still in love and still have to wait soooo long to complete this nightmare!
