I will keep this in mind. Thank you so much. I usually get good feedback after interviews but employers tend to stay away when they hear i'm still trying to immigrate probably because of the process. But still hoping.

It's because of the LMIA process. Most employers don't want to go through this process since it generally takes 4-6 months to complete with no guarantee of approval and costs a fair amount of money.

I see. Does every employer have to go through an LMIA process everytime they want to hire an immigrant? Or is there a list of employers that have gone through LMIA already and are willing to hire skilled immigrants?

There are some exemptions but there are limited. Yes, generally speaking, an employer must go through the LMIA process every single time they want to hire a non-Canadian. No, there are no lists.

Understood. I will read up more into it. Thank you thank you so much!

Hi,
If you want to immigrate to Canada, there is only the one fast track option and that is Express Entry. Work permit will also not provide you the faster way to immigrate there. When the Corona virus epidemic finished, you can check your eligibility and apply for ECA and transcripts.
As your relative has been there in Canada for 30+ years, you can add their points also to boost CRS score under Express Entry system. You are 24 years old, so you can get higher point on “age factor”. So, overall if you have dream to fetch up at Canada, the most appropriate option is to go for Express Entry system.
All the Best!

Hi! I'm a 24 year old Filipino currently in B.C. as a tourist with a multiple entry visa from the Philippines and wanting to immigrate. I just want to know if there are faster ways to get a work visa other than the express entry application? I already did my CELPIP exam and I have a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, 2 years work experience in call center industry. I'm staying with a relative who is a Canadian Citizen and has been here for 30+ years and runs a cleaning business by herself.

I have not started my express entry application because i'm waiting for my Transcript of Record from back home to get evaluated as part of the requirements, but that was put on hold because of the coronavirus so i'm wondering if there's anything else I can do. Thank you in advance for those who will respond!

Update:

Educational Assessment in process. My tourist visa extension was approved up until September 1st. I am hoping to submit my Express Entry application before this month ends. Will I be allowed to stay in the country while waiting for an Express Entry result? If not, is there other ways I could stay legally?
I do not mind going home it's just that Philippines hasn't been doing great with the virus I'm just scared to go home and not be able to come back because of the situation. I welcome any suggestions. Thank you so much!

How many points do you have? Last draw was for 478 points.

I am afraid you will have to leave Canada by the time your visitor record expires. Having an Express Entry profile does not entitle you to live in Canada as you wait for an ITA. Even submitting an e-APR after ITA does not let you live here unless you already had a valid work permit at the time of AOR (in that case, you can apply for BOWP).

Best thing you can do is get a student visa but might get refused given that you are in Canada as a tourist right. Basically you need to go back to your home country and apply from there. Otherwise I don't see anyway you can stay

My CRS points is currently at 390. Is there any way I can boost it up after submitting my EE application? I have been getting call backs from the jobs I applied for last year but since I do not have work permit they are hesitant to give a job offer or least a letter of intent to hire for my application.

Thank you for your inputs. From my home country, while my EE profile is submitted. Can I still apply for either a work visa or student visa?

Yes. To gain points you can:
1. Gain work experience
2. Get a Master's degree
3. Learn French
4. Have high IELTS

Yes, you can apply for a work permit or a study permit from your home country. Whether or not it gets approved, it depends on the merits of your application. If your CRS score is low, you can boost it by attending an eligible Canadian educational institute and gaining Canadian work experience through PGWP after your graduation.

I really appreciate your help. As much as I love to finish my Master's degree here, money is an issue. I guess I was just lucky to be even allowed in the country. I will try to get a work permit. Thank you so much! Wish you guys the best and keep safe!
