Hi Jason,

How long did it take you from the start of applying to you getting your visa? Do you think the timescales are longer now than when you did it?

We're eager to be there as soon as possible (as i'm sure everyone chatting on this forum are), and after doing a bit of research have learnt, applying independently as a skilled worker, it could take up to 38 - 41 months. Thru the attorney the timescales are reduced to 22 - 28 months.

We're so confused and in such a dilema. I guess at the end of the day luck may play a big part in it.

I am planning to apply for immigration through Skilled worker. I have 5 years work experience and have done associate in Business Administration Management from USA. Am I ableto apply since I have done only associate

Attorney can neither influnce time nor outcome of an application. Every body is on queue in whatever category you are. Just submit your application and wait for their response at the appropriate time. If you have anough money you can make use of an attorney it will reduce your stress but it will not speed up anything.

Very much appreciated. Just one more question (I think! :O))

If we do it on our own, we need to decide who should be the principal applicant. We both gained 70 points. My husband is an autocad technician and I am a software tester. Depending on what the current skillset demands are, will it make a difference who the principal applicant is? The only problem with me being the principal applicant is that I am curently a stay at home mum and also expecting our second baby in February. In this situation do you think its best if my husband was the principal applicant?
Also, after sending off the simplified application form, how long approximately should it take to hear back from them? We're in the UK by the way.

Thanks again for all your responses. I think we just need to go for it and stop wasting valuable time deciding whats the best way to do it. If you could just get back to me on your thoughts for the above queries, that would be great!
