Important questions about the medical exam

Hello everyone,

I would really appreciate it if someone could offer some insight about the medical examination requirement. I am currently living and working in Canada, but my husband is still living in his home country. How would the medical examination work for us? Will Buffalo (our visa office, I am the principal applicant) send me two separate forms, one for me and one for him? and if yes, if he does his medical exam in his home country will the results be forwarded to the visa office in his country or to Buffalo where our case is being processed?

The other question I have is with regards getting the medicals done in advance. I have seen several threads here and on trackitt where applicants got their medicals done in advance to speed up the process (and in some cases it worked!!). I am thinking of doing the same thing but I am not sure where the medical exam request form could be found..I searched the CIC website and tried a google search but I couldn't find it. Can someone please point me to where I can find this form? I received a file number from CIO but nothing yet from Buffalo. Should I wait until we receive the 2nd AOR from the visa office/Buffalo?

1. The VO'd send u separate forms - one for each member of the family.
2. They'd all come together in one pkt@your address [mentioned in the apps].
3. Yes, each one of u can get your meds done thru different DMPs@different cities/countries.
4. The meds reports r sent by the DMP to the RMC of his region [usually the CHC of the country where the DMP is].
5. It needn't be sent to your VO, 'coz the reports r available 'online' in the CIC system - the concerned pax can view it anywhere.

B.
1. U can do your meds w/out being requested, but it has its consequences.
- a) Your PRV will be valid dated one yr from the meds date, if u get the PPR neck-n-neck to it -- u'd be in trouble.
- b) In most cases these 'adv med reports' would be just kept in the file - no work is done on it till the meds ready stage comes in.
- c) For any reason if the b/g checks r delayed - your 'adv med' gets wasted.
2. The med forms r available with all DMPs... it's not your concern - s/he will take care of it.

4. Being yet under wait for the 2nd AOR - u r too early to jump towards meds issues.

ADVICE: Wait... don't unnecessarily do the meds w/out being asked -- generally speaking - it serves no purpose.

Once the VO starts processing your case -- typically a couple of months before u receive the CHC's AOR.

No. The 'processing time-count' starts Once the VO starts processing your case [once the file reaches them from CIO-NS] -- typically a couple of months before u receive the CHC's AOR.
