Important question about work permits - HELP

I wasn't sure if i should post this here or in the international student forum but here's the dilemma.

I have a friend who came here on a study permit and he finished a post graduate program at seneca. after finishing he applied for a pgwp and was given one year ending sept 30 2016.

He started working full time in january and worked part time last year + internship from sept to dec.

He wants to stay but i dont know if there are many options available. he could go back to school but i dont think he would be given the pgwp again?

Does anyone have any possible solutions as to how he can stay with the correct permits???

You can only get a PGWP once.

You can certainly go back to school on another study permit - however you won't qualify for another PGWP once you finish your studies.

If you want to continue working, you will have to find an employer wiling to offer you a full time job and who can obtain an approved LMIA.

I have another question: if you do a 2 year masters program is it possible to apply for PR afterwards? or the same rules apply?

You can apply for PR now if you qualify.

You just can't apply for another PGWP.

Hi @scylla,

I just want to ask for your advice,
My passport expires in 20 months.
And I need to extend my LIC under LmO work permit,
My WP expires in June 2016
Passport renewal takes 10 weeks
I only need 4 months extension so I can complete the 24 months requirement to apply for OWP/PR

Do I need to urgently renew my passport now? Or pass the WP extension then renew my passport?
I have no plans on going anywhere outside canada.
