IMPORTANT QUESTION - 67 POINTS REQUIRED UNDER FSW TO OPEN EXPRESS ENTRY PROFILE?

Hi guys,

I'm having approx 350 points under express entry CSR, BUT falling short of few points of minimum 67 required to have FSW.

I read somewhere that one needs 1st to qualify under FSW with minimum 67 points and ONLY then be eligible to actually apply under EE? IS it true? Plz. confirm.

Correct, CSR only are points that give you a ranking in the EE pool, but what really qualifies you for applying is having the requirements for an immigration program as for example FSW, if you don´t at least 67 points, the site will automatically places you as ineligible !!! You won´t be able to register a valid and eligible profile. But you can check another programs a Canadian experience (CEC) or Federal skilled trades (FST) that have another requirements and points as FSW. You may qualify in other one.

BUT I confirmed with a Canadian Registered ICCRC agent based in Toronto. He claimed that the 67 points is old system and NOT valid now and it's there on CIC website just to confuse future immigrants. He claimed that one only needs to have MINIMUM requirements of FSW- IELTS 6.0 ALL BANDS and WES/ other authorized evaluation report. That's it.
He assured me, he as an authorized ICCRC agent and Canadian citizen living there for a long time and being into this business.. that's the fact and 67 points has nothing to do with it.

Pretty confusing.... Don;t know..what to think or make of it! ??? ??? ???

Please is there anyway one could get clear picture of the whole requirement? this 67 stuff is confusing

Let me clarify you guys..

The FSW mandate of gaining 67 points is the litmus test to qualify for an express entry.

So once you start filling details to find out your eligibility criteria under the EE eligibility tool, the first test you need to qualify is the FSW mandate. Once you pass this and provide additional details, a reference number is generated to create the EE profile and enter in the pool.

Even after the EE profile is created and submitted in the pool, the main page of the profile explicitly mentions as one of the points as FSW criteria met.

In FSW language proficiency plays the most important role as anything above CLB 9 are awarded 6 points each (24 in total).

So whosoever says that FSW selection criteria has become defunct is wrong.
