Hi - sorry to hear about the application status - but congratulations on keeping it positive and neither giving up nor being critical about the authorities (cos that is the easy way some resort to with unnecessary criticism).
I had applied the first time on my own (no consultant or great internet forums like this one)- but due to the long wait times I applied for a second time. This time through a consultant, primarily because I had changed my industry from F&B to banking had about 5 yrs experience in each. So was not sure of the NOC etc. At the time (second app) I could not afford the time for sufficient research on my own either. Thus professional help was the `safer`option - gave me the guidance I needed. Leave it to your own judgement if with the confusing NOC decision and the 'cook' option whether you want to seek assistance from this forum (fantastic, helpful people like Qorax, fma, Biju and many other seniors are experienced and always forthcoming) or resort to a consultant (I went for one based in Canada).
You must already be aware of the cic caps per NOC etc. I.e. the new regulations, and I understand that timing of the application filing is of greater significance, now.

Seniors may provide better, further comments.

Best wishes

Thank you very much for your response, appreciate it.

To be honest I have studied everything I could find about immigration laws in Canada to the point that I am confused now. They changed the process 6 months ago and now you have to have the experience or your academic background in one of the occupations from the new list, but my confusion comes from the consultants that I have talked to. Some of them (many I will say), advice me to apply through Quebec even knowing that my French in awful (not to say 0), and they do it because of my academic background as a Civil engineer and architect (I will receive my associates degree in architecture on December 2011), while only one consultant explained to me my options as a cook through the federal program, which sounds more practical because it appears not to many applications have been received under this profession.

As you Nav, I am in the same boat, I do not have the time to wait for another rejection for this program, specially because we don't even know if this new system will change again in July this year. The saddest part of my story as that in February of this year when I got my package back, the letter said that all my file was complete and ready for processing but because of my residency status I needed to resubmit it by Bogota - Colombia, and that application was as an engineer.

Can you advice me about a consultant, which in your case it looks it was of great assistance?

Thank you very much once more. I'll keep in touch.

Hi Omaus,

Please check your inbox, I have PMed you the information. But if you do decide to go down the consultant route, I would strongly suggest, please do your own research and compare with other consultants before making any decisions. After all I am still a stranger and this involves your hard earned money.

Best regards

Dear Bhavik,

Just make sure that your Credit Card is active and working at the time of payment.

If any issue comes related to payment, you have the justification that Forms were changed in Dec-10 itself in which month you have already filed the application.

In Future, I suggest you to have bank draft instead of credit card.

All the best dear.

Form filled and sent: 3ed June'2010
First AOR: 25th sep'2010
Full Doceuments sent: 20th Dec'2010
Medical: waiting
the rest all status is in waiting

I also want to tell everyone that,
even if I got a conslutant who is dealing with my visa case, I cant be reliable on them. They are hopeless. One must be very carefull to choose any consultant. We paid a lot of fees to them but they have same answers of any of my queries what the canadian website(CHC) website has. They have no insurity to give u any particular date

Currently CIC is taking approximately 4 months to send PER(previously known as AOR). To find out the timeline for the applicants who recently have got their PER, click on the following link
