I have been hearing from scattered sources that Immigration Canada is going to change the current FSW system from January, 2010? They are going to harden the process by increasing the points from 67 to anything more than that and also chance of reducing the current 38 occupational list.

I'm also hearing that there has been series of meetings took place headed by Minister of Immigration Canada about this possible changes which might be announced in January, 2010. The problem is they might make it retroactive. thats the real Concern.

Anyone with Trusted Information regarding this?

Re: ((((( Important ))))) Is new system imminent in Jnuary for FSW ??

Where are these sources? Are these links on websites?

Rumors

When immigration canada makes a big efforts to study the economical situation and needs of the country and announces new immigration plans officially at their website, they do not play around.

They have already announced their plans for 2010 actions.

I believe the OP is talking about a newer 2010 plan which refers to reducing the 38 occupations and making the change retroactive. The articles are referring to past statements and one new development which is unrelated

seems irrelevant

Source: I know A guy works part time in an Immigration farm, He said that their lawyer who was present on that meeting with the minister.
jnathan: Me too, the statement of the minister (if it really is) is very ambiguous. I am looking for a trusted source for the info.

Yes. After 3 hours of digging, I have reached a conclusive solution to the controversy.
its an old statement of October,30-2009. The minister was commenting on the 38 occupation list and was praising the reduction of backlog as much as 30%. it also said that they'd be taking more skilled workers than before.

In fact Canada will need more n more people for its growing economy and increasing its population.

Thanks everyone for their participation, Thanks pooja.
