Dear Forum Users,

We are a family of four (2 + 2) and are planning to land in Toronto for the first time within the next 2 months. Related to that, i have a question:

Q). As our kids plan to start their school in Toronto, in the mid of winter there. Thus what are the immediate clothing line we should be carrying with us to overcome and ease out this weather shock for them.

We would surely be buying all our winter clothes from there, but in case this requires some time and in the mean time, they have to go to school, what's your advice on the basic clothing we should be carrying for our kids early school days.

Appreciate if you can share your experience on this with us.

Thanks in advance & kind regards,
New Comer to Canada

Hi there.

Yes it's probably best to get ther clothes here and none of them have to be the expensive brands noted on the other thread.

As said in that other one the best way to keep warm is to layer the clothes.

So from the bottom up your kids might need

Decent boots and socks (if really mid winter then you can get some pretty good snow boots rated to minus 40 from Walmart)
Long underwear
jeans
snowpants
long sleeved t shirt
sweater
warm jacket
gloves
hat (called a toque in Canada!)

You can get all of the above somwhat inexpensively and the beauty is that if the kids get warm they can ust start taking layers off once inside

I couldn't find out how to post a picture but here is a link to someones blog, that has lots of pics of their kids dressed up for winter to give you an idea of what to buy

Hope this helps :)
