Hi..

Now I am inside Canada with a visitor visa and i have applied for an extension. My expiration day is in 2 days and i haven't got a response yet. Do i have to go to the airport or to an immigration office to stamp my passport in order to get the implied visa. Or this is informal? If police stops me inorder to check my passport how can I show them that I have applied for an extension and I am in an implied status? I just wait for the response I do not have to do anything?

all you can do is wait, and waiting sucks!! but since you filed for extension before your exit date you have implied status. you will get something in the mail... eventually... GL!

thanks for the answer..

So if the rejection will come 10 days after the expiration day I will not have any problem at the airport telling me that I stayed 10 days illegally as the immigration office will see that I was in implied status. Because I am thinking coming back in couple of months I do not want to show that I overstayed in my last visit.

Because somebody told me that on the expiration date I have to go to the airport and show them my passport, to stamp it again and something like this.

"Somebody" told you wrong. If your are refused, you just leave, Canada doesn't have exit controls. If you are coming back, your entry stamp into the next country will show when you left.

If u have applied for any kind of visa or permit and ur current status has expired, it is deemed to be implied status.

Upon refusal of visa or permit, u can still stay for 3 months - time to restore ur status

upon expiry of 3 months u r illegal if u stay back without any valid visa or permit
