Implied Status

My work permit is expiring very soon, i applied for a visitors visa months ago but it is still being processed. Until a decisions is made on my visitors visa, i have implied status. My question is can i continue to work on this status after my work permit expires

If you're eligible for a new/extension of your WP, and if your current WP is not expired, you can apply for a new WP. After you've submitted your application for a new WP, you'll be able to work while on implied status.
If your current WP is expired, you can try to restore your status as a worker, if you're eligible.

Restoring your status would only lead to visitor status in this instance. OP really needs to apply for another work permit or have a PR application in process.
