I'm currently on the IEC work permit. If this expires while you're waiting for the outcome of your BOWP (bridging permit) are you still able to stay in the country and/or work?

Yes!
I was under IEC and asked for the Bridge (BOWP) a bit more than one month before the end of my visa and I'm currently working under implied status.

You need to do it AT LEAST one month before your IEC expiration date.

You need to do it AT LEAST one month before your IEC expiration date.

People can apply to extend their status up until it actually expires. They don't have to apply a month ahead of time.
