Hi,

I have some questions regarding implied status that I would like cleared up.

I have a visitors visa that is valid till the 20th of September 2018. I am currently in Canada and applied for an extension on the 16th of August 2018. The processing time is approximately 70 days, online application, which would mean it would be processed by the 25 of October 2018. I have a flight booked home on the 12th of September.

From my understanding, I have implied status in Canada till the processing of my extension. What happens in the event of my extension being denied? How long do I have till I have to leave the country in that case?

Is it viable for me to change my flight date to the date I want my visa extended too?

Isn't implied status about extending the permit, not the TRV? If your permit expires and you do not have a pending renewal, regardless of your TRV status you'd be out of status. TRV is really just for reentry, it's the permit that matters inside Canada.

If you have submitted an application to extend your visitor visa record which is expiring on Sept 20th then yes you have implied status until you get a decision on your extension.

But do clarify if you are talking about extending your visitor record or visitor visa? Because those two are completely different. A visitor visa cannot be extended and applicants must reapply for a visitor visa.

I have same question. What happened if we got refusal in implied status. Out of status? How many days we have? to leave Canada ?
If your visitor record extension is refused, the refusal letter would state you have 90 days to restore your status. Unless the VO who is handling your application believes that you must leave Canada as soon as possible, then he/she will state that on the refusal letter as well.
