Hey everyone,

My PGWP is going to expire next month. and I have applied for BWOP but not received yet. My PR application is still under process. So after next month I'll be on implied status. So now my confusion is, if I get a new job and they ask for my valid WP; what should I reply to them?? Do employers get agree with such kind of status??
Thanks for your help people..!!

Well it depends on the Employers !
Implied status is a valid status and continue to work until your new WP is received.
Provide all the details from CIC website to your new employer to support your status

It depends on the employer. But many employers are also too anxious to employ somebody on implied status, because it is not guaranteed that you will get the permit in the end. Good luck!

I guess it depends on the employer.

My Work Permit it's going to expire in May and last week I got an email from HR. They said that if I apply before the expiring date and still haven't got an answer from CIC, that just to send them some sort of documentation that proves I applied. And that I can keep working with no issues until the decision is made.

But they also mentioned that if I don't apply before the expiring date for the extension, then they will terminate me immediately.

I work for a big corporation, so I guess they know the rules very well and deal with cases like me everyday.

Are you sure your company HR will terminate if employee is out of status? When out of status they will not allow employee to work, but they don't have legal rights to terminate employee without just cause. Doing so is like illegally terminate employee on maturity leave who will not work for 3-6 months ...
A more reasonable scenario is if an employee is out of status, he or she may apply to unpaid leave, and before that he and she can use up all remaining paid vacation leave. If after one year that employee is still out of status and can not return to work, he or she is considered as resigned and was not terminated.

Went to read the email again. To my supervisor they said:

"The employee may apply for a new work permit, or you may elect to terminate employment when the work permit expires."

"Please note that if the work permit is not renewed the employee should not be allowed to work beyond the permit expiry date."

I am really not too worried right now because I don't plan to change employer and I'll apply to renew my permit. I'll worry when the moment comes and I am really in troubles haha.

I have faith our applications will keep moving forward on the upcoming weeks :D
