Hi all,
I know this is an old thread, but I'm in a similar situation and need your advice.

I live out of Canada, and my PR has just been approved (I applied as single via Express Entry, and was nominated by Ontario).
Currently, I have sent my passport to the embassy for the visa. However, I'll be getting married in September (my spouse also lives out of Canada).
1. When and how do make this information known to IRCC?
2. What documents may be required to include her and what is the best approach to avoid delays and complications?

I would really appreciate your advice.

Kind regards,
Joe.

1) You have no choice but to add your spouse to your application (accompanying or not) since you are already married.

2) CRS will not be recalculated post-AOR

3) Yes, you need an updated POF when CIC requests for it as it is usually not included in the forms for addition of family member.
need to submit updated pof when they asked??

Believe your CRS score gets reassessed if you add your spouse and you have to sponsor them once you arrive in Canada.

Hello Guys,
I had spouse but I stated her as non accompanying to gain more point in CRS. What is best time to add her as an accompanying before PR?

Unless you are willing to lose those points there is no "best time" to add her.

What if I add spouse after AOR? I read some comments that says after AOR they don't do recalculation of CRS point.
That specific situation is for those who get married after submitting their e-APR. If you add her post-Eapr submission your points will get recalculated.

Hello,
In my own case, my husband had contract in home country and would not be able to leave when i started my application so i put him as non accompanying spouse. After i had received my ITA, his contract became open making him available to leave the country. i sent mails to my cic concerning this and he was eventually added to my application as an accompanying spouse.
i hope this info helps.
So many people here helped me when i raised it here. Passing on the goodwill.
