Imp: File No received,FSW1, 1 month response time for Islamabad,Pakistan Office,

Hi All,
I applied in December 2008 under FSW 1, from islamabad, Pakistan Office, under 0213 NOC.
I received a letter from CIC Nova Scotia dated First Feb, instructing to submit application within 4 months to CHC in Islamabad, Pakistan. I have prepared the stuff but need to clarify a few points:

1. For Submission to CHC, only Copies of Passports are needed, and not the actual Passports
2. If the university does not issue Trasncripts in sealed envelopes, what is the aclternative? I believe duplicate Degree is not required in sealed envelope
3. Is the Right of permanent resident fee (CAD490 each for Principal applicant and spouse) to be paid with this application or that will be required before medicals?
4. How long is CHC Pakistan taking to ask for medicals?
5. I am currently in UK on work permit, if things go smooth, for how long will they ask me for the passport ?
6. The deadline for docs is 4 months, I plan to submit within three months, Are there any deadlines for medicals and passport submission etc as well ?
7. What docs are needed to show relative living in canada ( A letter from relateive stating relation,or their birth certificates etc )
8. My IETLS is 1 year and 2 months old now, so I believe I have to take GT again.

I moved to UK last month on work Permit, but still be going ahead with application in Islamabad.

Senior members and applicant from Pakistan, plz help.

1) yes. you will be asked the actual passport if you are successful in your application
2) there is a long discussion on this topic for pakistani applicants. you should search for it.
3) Right of PR fee can be paid later
4) you should check trackitt.com to see how long the visa office process was taking under the old rule. it will only give a time indication. No one knows what the new timelines are like.
5) I don't know but usually its just for stamping i think.
6) There probably is some deadline but i haven't experienced this part of the process yet so maybe someone else will answer here.
7) you need all official documents like birth certificate that can link you to that person. you also need couple of other documents like PR card or passport (for citizens), etc. i dont know what else you will need. it should be in appendix A for your visa office.
8) I think it shouldn't be one year old at the time of your application. If you submitted your application in December, then your IELTs wasn't 1 year old at the time of you sending it into NS. So the question is, what is the definition of date of application, is it the date sent to Sydney or to Visa office.

Thanks Rupesh, just a little confusion on Point 1 only:

Do I have to submit my passport with the full application within four months or they will need it at a later stage at the the time of medicals or after that ??

you submit copies only with your application. they will ask for passport later.

Thanks Again, I was going through other pages and saw one mind-boggling scenario, which may apply to me later:

I am in UK right now, on work permit, and if I am asked to send my passport, I have to PHYSICALLY go to submit and collect pasport, as I saw from previous posts that Its illegal to courier your passports,

now, that might put me in a strange situation, they may take long in processing.

is it illegal to courier passports in general or for Pakistan. I know it is illegal to courier passports in india according to the posts here.

Yes, its illegal to send passports without travelling using it, so I persume the only possible way is to be in Pakistan, and ask for some appointment/timelines, as I am on job here in UK. I will mention my UK experience in the application anyways and they (CIC) must have some way out...they must have been dealing with similar cases earlier...its still a long way to go...

Rupeshhari - i found you very active an knowledgable person in this forum. i have very complex situation regarding "proof of Funds" . As 50% of my funds invested in Prize bonds of State bank and 50% in banks. one this i have a property having fair value or markt value arround 85% of required fun limit. Should i also show current valuation as proof of fund and prize bonds photo copies as supporting backups. pls reply to my query its urgent .Am goona to fowd my case in 1st week of april please. This is what the buffalo appendix A says:

Refer to the "Proof of Funds" section of our Web site for exact figures and
instructions.
Provide proof of unencumbered and readily transferable funds in a convertible
currency available for settlement in Canada (for you and your family members):
• current bank certification letter; or
• evidence of savings balance; or
• fixed or time deposit statements.


I guess investment bonds should be okay. I am not sure about properly. If you want to use the two investment bonds from the two banks, i think it should be ok. You could either take photocopies and notarize it or you could ask a bank manager to give you a letter to say that you have this amount in bonds in the bank. If i am wrong on this, hopefully someone else will write and correct me. I am not so sure about how proof of funds should be shown for different visa offices, so if i am wrong someone else might reply. Good luck.

Thanks a ton bro for your time. what does it means "Current bank cert. letter" . What i am getting the letter issued by my bank manager that this person has this much ending balance as of ... or should i attach bank statement. WILL ANY BODY IN THE ROOM ADVISE ME ABOUT THIS CERTIFICATE?????????

i think its just a a letter to say this person has this much sum in the bank in this form.
