Hello Everyone !!!
Greetings for the day...

Do we need any kind of immunization before travelling to Canada for higher studies ??

Searched a lot on my University Website but was unable to find any information on this !!!

I will be going to Canada for a Master's Program at UOttawa, so i was wondering if i would need any vaccinations before travel to Ottawa, Ontario ??

Few names i found on the web are : (Do we really need these ??)

Gardasil /Cervarix
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis A
Meningococcal Vaccine
MMR
Varivax (chicken pox)

Is there any need of documentation for these vaccinations / immunizations ??

Would be highly grateful if anyone could help in this regard ....

Thanks

This schedule maybe helpful. Discuss it with your doctor. Ask your doctor if you had all your required booster shots including MMR. If you have not had a tetanus/diphtheria booster in the last 10 years that should be done. If coming to Canada during wintertime a flu shot is good protection. Living/studying/socializing with students a meningococcal vaccine is good, also HepB and Gardasil. HepA is good protection if you are frequently eating out although HepA outbreaks are infrequent in Canada.
